Although the league runs a program out of each school district, your school district is partnering with VFX to make it possible for us to run this league. VFX is a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit organization that is member organization of USA Volleyball. VolleyFX Volleyball Club (VFX), the largest girls volleyball organization in the Rochester area, founded and continues to run the Rochester Youth Volleyball League. Many programs are able to sponsor more than one team per age group and this is based on gym space and sign up numbers.
Each participating school district will look to field at a minimum one 3rd-4th grade team and one 5th-6th grade team. The league runs for 8 weeks and will includes team practices, home and away games and one year-end tournament. This means all participants sign up under their school districts program and will practice at a location in their school district.
The league operates as a 'pre-modified' program. Since then the league has grown to serve over 400 athletes and includes 14participating districts. In its first season, the league was made up of three area schools and 70 members.
The Rochester Youth Volleyball League began September 2012 with the goal of providing a volleyball opportunity for the first time to girls’ grades 3rd-6th in the Rochester area.
